Katie's Ravishing Rainbow Cupcakes!

Looking for something new, exciting, and fun? Well you just landed yourself in the right place! Boring o'l cupcakes are dumb so why not spice it up a bit? When you bite into the delicious moist center, it shouldn't only taste great, it should look amazing. And that's where these ravishing rainbow cupcakes come in!

You will need:
  • A box of white cake mix (and the ingredients the box directions call for)
  • Food coloring (5 colors)
  • 5 small bowls
  • One cupcake pan
  • 12 cupcake liners
  • An oven! (duh)
  • A great fun attitude!
Start off with a box of white cake mix. Pretend you re just making regular cupcakes and follow the directions. Once you mix the batter up, STOP! This is where you get funky! Get out your 5 bowls, and split your batter up evenly. Choose the 5 colors you would like your layers to be. Dye one color in each bowl, like this! I used cake decorating food dye.

Once your finished with all the colors, they will turn out like this!

Decide what order you want the colors in your cupcakes to be. Starting with your first color, adding a spoonful of batter to each of the 12 cupcake liner. Then add a spoonful of your second color, and so on. When you place the batter in the middle, don't spread it out, let it spread itself out.

When you finish your top color, your batter will most likely be at the top of the cup. Don't freak! That's good! You must expect that when using a 24 cupcake batter for 12 cupcakes! Follow the cooking directions on the box, and stick your cupcakes in the oven!

Once your cupcakes are cool, frost them with yummy icing and enjoy!
